Spring Lacrosse Season

February 17th, 2021

To our PY Youth Lacrosse Families:

We are happy to announce that Penn Yan Youth Lax (PYYL) will be having a 2021 spring season for Grades 1-6th.  To register for Spring Lax, please click on the link above.

PYYL will be following all NYSDOH Sports and Recreation COVID-19 guidelines for the Spring season.  Things will look a little different this year but the health and safety of our coaches, players and fans is our top priority.   Here are the 2021 guidelines that will be implemented this season:

  • Players will not be allowed to attend practice or scrimmage/game if they have any of the following COVID 19 symptoms:  Fever 100.4 or greater, chills, shortness of breath, headache, new loss taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, cough, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Parent/guardian will answer the COVID-19 screening questionnaire provided by PYYL prior to every practice and scrimmage/game.
  • Players must wear acceptable face coverings at all times during practice, on the sidelines during practice and at scrimmages/games and on the playing field. Face coverings must cover both the mouth and nose.
  • Practices are drop off / pick up only.  Parents are not allowed on the sidelines of the field/box for practices due to capacity restrictions.  Coaches will have phone numbers for each parent in the event they are needed to come back to practice for their child.
  • Spectators at scrimmages/games are limited to no more than two spectators per player. This will be enforced by coaches and board members present at these events. If there are more than two spectators for your player, they will be asked to leave.
  • Spectators must wear face coverings at all times where six feet of distancing is not able to be maintained from other individuals and/or family household units.
  • Spectators must maintain six feet of physical distance between other individuals and/or family household units at all times.
  • Spectators will respect the use of spacing markers on the ground or seating areas if present.

If the guidelines above are not followed, PYYL Board members and coaches have the right to prohibit you and/or your player from attending and/or playing in the PYYL program season. PYYL program has put in place preventative measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, PYYL cannot guarantee that you or your child will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending PYYL program events could increase your risk and your child’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

Please feel free to reach out to any Board member if you have any questions.
